Hey,  I was using my laptop when it suddenly froze, so i left it to see it would unfreeze,it hadnt so I had to turn off my laptop. Trying to restart it, it would not load windows and i would hear my laptop beeping and hear clicking noises, each time i try to load windows it always stops at the windows 8 loading symbol then proceeds to a black screen.

I would like to know what i am able to do to fix it, or at least if there is any way to get my data off the drive onto a new one..Your help would be very appreciated and I thank you for taking your time to help me out.

Hello XeMario!

Most likely you'll need to use the drive externally.

If your laptop is still under warranty, I would suggest you take it to the place you purchased it from and explain the problem.

If not, you will need to take out the drive and connect it to another system and see if how damaged it is and if you can extract your data from it.

The sounds and symptoms you have described, though, speak for a damaged/dead hard drive. :/

I hadn't noticed this, thank you for your response though, i had tried it again after letting it rest for a while. It was running fine again for the most part, i am still using it rn, though i am getting an ssd soon to store my important files on, Not much problems with this hhd anymore, except when my laptop gets turned off or i remove the drive, I usually just go into sleep mode

If you have a clicking drive you may want to go ahead and (if you still have it under warrenty) move your files over and get a replacement laptop. It may seem fine for now but laptop HDDs are really unpredictable when they start showing symptoms of hardware malfunctions. Just my suggestion.

In that case make sure you have also checked your laptop's hardware, go to a professional for that. It could be that the CPU has problem, or the motherboard, so the HDD couldn't start and the head inside clicked.

I do advise that before using a new drive in your laptop!

Also, do back up your data from this HDD just in case. After that you could check its health.
