Welcome to the Forum.

What are the full specs of the machine and do you have the latest (and correct) drivers installed or were you not able to do that before it started crashing?

One thing I would check is your hard drive. I've noticed when hard drives start to fail, they will momentary lock up your computer while trying to recover the data.To check it you can download Crystal Disk Info. http://osdn.jp/projects/crystaldiskinfo/downloads/63399/CrystalDiskInfo6_5_1.zip/?use_mirror=jaist

It's always possible your hard drive is bad, or it could be a virus.

if its a virus how would you suspect it coming

Okay, lets try this. Type Win + R. You should see a dialog box called run. In that box, type services.msc. Look for services called Windows Update and Windows Modules Installer and stop those services. Also, may I see a screenshot of task manager please?
