Wifi Network not sharing.

Go to solution Solved by Matt420740,

I tried reconnecting them, the lights for the ethernet cables are flashing for both computers. I'll try to update the drivers.

Thats what I was going to recommend next. Make sure to find out the model and make of each motherboard, and go to the manufactures website to get the latest Network Adapter drivers. Windows will hardly ever update to the newer versions of those drivers via device manager, you have to manually download and install them.

I'm trying to share my wifi to another computer in my room through ethernet

What? You don't send a wi-fi connection via ethernet cable, that would be a wired connection.

So are you using a cable or wi-fi?

And does the PC in question even have a wireless adapter to receive the wireless signal?

I have both computer hooked up with an ethernet cable, and one computer has an WIFI adapter. I'm attempting to share the WiFI from the computer with the adapter to the computer with no WiFi adapter.

If I understand correctly you are trying to share the internet from the device with wifi to the wired computer. If this is the case on the computer with both wifi and Ethernet, select both network adapters, right click, bridge.

Hope this helps!

Make sure to check the box that says "Allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection." Its unchecked in your screenshot, and must be checked. Then select "local area connection" in the dropdown box, and hit okay. No need to check the last box. Now you should see "shared" under your wireless connection.

LAN is not an option, only Wireless Network Connection 2 and Hamachi.

Also the box was check marked when I actually tried, just didn't have it selected when taking the snap.

If you don't see "local area connection" as an option, then your PC is not recognizing the ethernet connection between the two machines. Once you have the two connected the "local area connection" will pop up under "network connections" like so -

Maybe try to reconnect them, or try a different cable. The WiFi will still show up as Wireless connections, and the two PCs will show up as local area connection.
