My acer v5 aspire laptop touchpad has broken, then right click has gone. The left one is a little bit damaged but does just work.

I was drilling a screw out near the touch pad yesterday could this have caused the issue? How can I fix it?

Why would you need to use power tools with laptop? If the whole pad is broken, your options are limited. If there is physical damage, you need new unit. If not, take it apart and see if cable is disconnected partly etc.

The crew had been stripped so the only other option was to drill it out. I'm just going to take it to a repair shop, no good with laptops myself, too awkward
