In 2011 i have bought a medion akoya  p5365 d. Until resently it has don a great job at gaming but it has come to a end.
The grafics card can't run the latest games realy wel(assasins creed unity, witcher 3).
This problem has 2 solutions: get a new better grafics card. Or build a new one.
The only problem i have is that i can't figure out if the rest of the system can handle a new grafic card.
these are the specs:

CPU en motherboard
CPU/SoC Intel Core i7-3770
CPU architecture Intel Ivy Bridge
Motherboardchipset Intel H61
Memory
Memorysize 6GB
Memerytype DDR3
Hard drive
Hard drive bus SATA-600
storagetype 7200rpm HDD
storagcapaciteit 1,5TB
Grafics
Graficcard GeForce GT545
Connection's
USB 4x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0
Video out D-Sub (VGA), DVI-D, HDMI
Ethernet Ethernet 1Gbps
wlan 802.11 (onb. type), 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n
5GHz  no

I'm looking for a system that can keep up for a few years (2/3) but it doesn't need to run the game's at extra high.

Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated

the i7 3770 is a BEAST for gaming. just upgrade your GPU to a gtx 970

The performance in CPUs have not changed in a long time because they are more than fast enough so that cpu is a s good as a brand new i7. do you know how many watts your power supply is

Main PC |CPU - i7-6700k|GPU - R9 290x tri-x 4gb|RAM - 16gb ddr4|MOBO - MSI z170 - A PRO|HDD - WD 1TB/240gb Sandisk |PSU - 700w Raidmax

Laptop |CPU - i7 4720hq|GPU - 960m 2gb|Ram - 8gb 2x4|Model - y50-70 Touch|SSD - 240gb Patriot drive|Display - 1920x1080 IPS touch

thanks for the fast reactions.

got a 450 watt power supply, ssd for boot is indeed a great idee, what is a good size ssd?

Do all type of RAM work or only a few (the RAM that's in there now is from elixer)

And what are the differences between the Geforce 970 and the new AMD?
