Can I Share?

Go to solution Solved by UnknownEngineer,

Nope, only one PC can use the licence at a time. You will need two licenses if you have 2 computers.

That doesn't mean you can't install 8.1 on both PC's though.....

EDIT: forgot to mention one thing, there are licences that work for multiple PC's. But those are intended for business use, I am rather certain that they are a bunch more expensive. If the target audience is either schools or businesses... You aren't going to get one for personal use.

Guys I am a poor fellow and i have a desire for pcs i have built them as well! i want to get windows for two new pcs i have and i want to know if i can share one product key with 2 pcs.

i will be keeping them both for myself and not selling them. they are mine...

BEFORE you start asking why don't you have one that can do what two can, i will tell you it is so others can come hangout and play with me at my house!

i want windows 8.1 because i love it so dont recommend anything free or another program. i tried getting student versoin (as i am a student) and i never got a response.

ready set go!

Spoiler

Case Bitfenix Ghost, Mobo Asus Maximus VIII Ranger, CPU i7 6700K @4.2 Ghz cooled by Arctic cooling Freezer i30, (barely). GPU Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 @1519Mhz core, RAM 16Gb Crucial Ballistix CL16 @2400Mhz. SSD 128GB Sandisk Ultra Plus as my OS drive. HDD's  1TB  Seagate ST31000524AS its OEM, 3TB Seagate Barracuda, 2x 500GB WDC Blue (RAID 0)

If it isn't working absolutely perfectly, according to all your assumptions, it is broken.

They are going to be useful at some point, if you reinstall, just keep them, you can also use them to restore an installation IIRC.

sure.

you can extend the trial version to 90 days, and as long as you have everything backed up on a seperate drive, like games, music, videos etc

you only have to reinstall 4 times a year!!!

it's sort of legal?

Yeah, having to reinstall 4 times a year will be a bit of a pain, he might as well be cracking the OS to avoid that, which certainly is illegal. (But we can't recommend cracking an OS here because CoC)
