So im looking for an os that i could throw on there. Im not intressted in paying anything, and a cracked windows isnt really hat im looking for. So linux comes to mind.

What linux build is good for gaming?

you could throw on steam OS (link).

it is a pretty hard distro to fully control, tough definitely fun to play around with!

All linux os will perform pretty much the same.

If u're keen on setting up desktop managers, any linux distro will be good for u.

The easiest are those based on debian.

If u're new to linux and don't wanna bother with making it from scratch, try something like Mandriva or Ubuntu forks (lubuntu, xubuntu, kubuntu (they have different desktop managers)).

Download unetbootin, select a distro u wanna try, install it to usb drive and boot to livecd to try this OS.

You will understand when you've found what u need.
