I'm going to build a pc with the i7-5775c because i want the integrated graphics for now and next year I'll get a Pascal GPU but that processor asks for DDR3L RAM however i've seen DDR3 ram work with it. Now I'm asking if CORSAIR Vengeance Pro Red 16 GB DDR3-1600 Kit CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R RAM would work on the asus z97 pro gamer motherboard with the i7-5775c although it aint 1.35 V and isn't on the QVL list

I wouldn't bother with it mate since Skylake is just round the corner with a new architecture. I'd wait mate.

And what if he doesn't want to replace his motherboard and RAM with his CPU? Not everyone has an unlimited budget.

OP, it SHOULD be fine, AFAIK they support any DDR3 RAM however don't take that as gospel cause its still early days and I'm not sure if anyone actually knows the answer for definite yet. Think of it this way though, Intel have a lot to lose if they don't support existing RAM.

but skylake wont have as good integrated gpus as broadwell. Intel is going to still have broadwell as an option when skylake is here for people who want good integrated gpus

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?
