I have a MSI GS-60 Ghost that has been having some serious WiFi issues; for example: WiFi cutting out, the adapter going away completely from the device manager, or not finding a network.  I have researched the issue several times and I have found a fix by resetting the adapter, but that is only temporarily.

I am not familiar with these types of cards that are out on the market so I am up for suggestions for a fix or even to replace the card all together.  I would replace the card than get a USB adapter.

Since the adapter has disappeared completely from the device manager at one point, that leads me to suspect the card itself is faulty as even a bad driver wouldn't make it disappear completely. At worst, you'd see a yellow exclamation point next to it and Windows wouldn't know what it is.

You can try updating your drivers, but I wouldn't expect it to be very helpful. They can be found here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24864/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Windows-8-1- and I'd suggest downloading the last one on the list, that's about 104.02MB, as it's the one I've had the best luck with.

Also, check to see if your laptop has onboard diagnostics in the EFI, some laptops actually have a test for the wifi card built in.
