Hi guys,
I'm building my first PC and am new to the whole process. I've checked out JackFrags' YouTube video on building a budget PC and am basing it on that.

I just wanted to make sure all the parts I've chosen are compatible and obviously I'd want to prevent bottlenecking. I was hoping some of you veterans could take a look.
Of course I'm also welcoming recommendations for different parts/ better solutions that are perhaps more up-to-date. Looking to keep the budget under £500.

Currently the setup I'm thinking of looks like this:

GPU: Zotac GTX 960 2GB Nvidia

CPU: AMD (Piledriver) FX-4300 3.80GHz (4.00GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 4-Core
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P AMD Socket AM3+
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600MHz CL9 DDR3
PSU: EVGA 500W 80 Plus
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 3.5" SATA III Hard Drive
Case: BitFenix Comrade Midi-Tower - Black

Thanks all!  :)

If you go to 600 ish you can get a pretty decent rig.. otherwise I'll suggest you go for used..

Don't go AMD for the love of god.. It's a dead end and not worth it for anything other than Home theatre or really light gaming on the on-board..

This is a build I suggested to someone the other day.. Really about the best bang for buck you can get though there are probably some places you could shave off a few pounds.

Here you go.. 500 GBP..

Swap the SSD for a HDD if you need the aditional storage.. BUT I would suggest sticking with it and adding in a cheap HDD as you need / can afford it.

You would be limited to a few trip A titles by the space but then most people only play a few games at a time, Your choice.

Reasons are... In MANY games the i3 will stomp the AMD, you can pop in a used i5 / i7 and overclock in a few years for a cheap upgrade and it's got all the modern bells and whistles of z97 besides (as well as support for SLI, though you would probably need about a 550W to do that with dual 960's)

Your budget really really restricts but I think this is about the best bang for buck you'll get.. You could probably drop the motherboard cheaper but there is little that will free you up to do except maybe get a reasonable after-market cooler (not an issue on the i3)

maybe you should look at the CoC there is nothing wrong with linking a video as long as you are not advertising it

Sorry for that!  Thanks for clearing that up!
