Need some help with my 1st build, starting out from scratch

Mostly 1080p gaming, theme Blue to match Logitech G430 head set and G502 mouse.

From New Zealand.

Budget around NZD$2000, USD$1400, £950

CPU                                  Intel Core i7-4790k                                           $506

Motherboard                     AsRock Z97 Extreme 4                                    $229

Memory                             Kingston Fury DDR3-1866 2 x 4GB                 $115

Storage                             Seagate Barracuda 1TB                                   $80
GPU                                  EVGA GTX 960 2GB                                        $375

PSU                                   Corsair CSM 750W 80+Gold                           $183

Optical drive                      LG DVD/CD writer                                            $30

Wireless adapter               TP-link                                                              $28

Case                                  Havn't picked yet                                             $140

OPS                                  Window 8.1                                                       $139

                                                                                                                 $1825

The three main part I'm not to sure on is

  1. CPU i7-4790k or save NZ$150 and get i5-4690k
  2. AsRock Z97 Extreme 4 or +NZ$35 AsRock Z97 Extreme 6 (or other?)
  3. EVGA GTX 960 2GB, or +NZ$45 EVGA GTX 960 4GB or +NZ$75 Gigabyte Windforce Radeon R9 280x 3GB

Any help in much appreciated

The I7 is overkill for just gaming get an I5 instead and spend the money you have saved on a 290X/970.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

@salecar3 Nice build but I'd save some money and go for a nice air cooler. Also for OP. How much is this in your country? Prices will vary and some of this may not be available where you are at :)
