GPU upp

Go to solution Solved by captain cactus,

Get a 970 or a 960. 980 is interesting when you go to higher resolution, but since you're staying on 1080p, those earlier mentioned cards should do the trick.

Hello everybody !

I'm upgrading my old pc with a new graphic card.

I have a 1920 x 1200 monitor with 60 mhz refresh rate.

It doesn't really matter the power eficiency or the price if it's not an overkill for my monitor.

i was thinking about buying a 980 or 970 but it may be too much.

I'd like to know your opinion.

 THANKS :D

I have a 970 and it works pretty well at 1080p, it will max any game with a good frame rate

What are your other specs? You saying "old pc" makes me scratch my head. Putting a 980 or 970 into a system with some ancient CPU and DDR2 RAM and some old HDD is a huge waste of money as the GPU will be bottlenecked by the rest of your system.

old pc = 12 gb ddr3 ram

              i7 950 cpu

              nvidia quadro fx 1800 gpu

ARE U RETARDED

No sir, the post only said 12 GB of DDR3 before he updated that. So no, not retarded.

So, a i7-950. That's an old chip. What are you doing with the system? Gaming? Workstation?
