Hi, everyone, this is my first post on the LTT Forum, so please be nice!

I would like to start off by saying I am not an avid gamer (the only video games I ever play are racing simulators). My current PC is horrendous. A Pentium e6300, a 512 Mb GPU, a nondescript MOBO, and 3 Gb of assorted RAM @ 533 MHz. Luckily, I've struck an ethereal gold mine! With my new found wealth I plan to build a supreme computer for my music production and video editing (and maybe some iRacing... Hence the three monitor setup for my new build  ;)

Here's a link to the components. It's all inclusive - minus the racing chair and controls (I already own a decent set).

Tell me what you guys (or gals) think about it!

Cost =

$ 8773.00 USD at the time of research

At that price your insane to go AMD.

I know it seems crazy to not go with Intel, but I've had a better run with AMD / ATI products than with Intel. Believe it or not, I've had a lot less problems with AMD CPUs and GPUs.

I don't think you will be able to play a lot of games on all three monitors anyway. Just because of the pure amount of raw power needed

ANd The other two (those who I am to lazy to quote right now - mobile phone) are right: If you are willing to spend that amount of money I would go with an Intel CPU period. More processing power, less heat output .... And did I mention the processing power. I'd reccommend an i7 5820k if you even need to go x99.

But it is all up to you.

I will not judge you for going with a 9590.

But I am very interested in seeing how your system performs and the final pictures of your build/setup.

inb4 "omg 9590 waste of money intel master race"

EDIT: guess not :P

Post some pics! And welcome to the forum :)

The parts haven't even been purchased  ! I want to see what you guys would think of the specs before I buy my components. Maybe some solid buying advice? This is my first personal build outside of building PCs for others. And it's also more of a novelty build. That's why I'm going with AMD (for teh lulz). I am going to build it.

-snip-

Have fun!

However, your cards are going to be bottlenecked by old technology. Remember that with AMD FX processors, you divide the amount of "cores" listed by two to get an idea of where it stands, so the 9XXX is really 4 cores. Additionally, because the FX series is so inefficient, the IPC rate is really low. if you were spending nearly 9k, you would be much better off getting a Xeon or high end i7...

-or-

Wait for Zen...if AMD learned a lesson from the FX series it will be amazing.

Great idea! If I wait for the Zen series, I won't have to change any other components. Thank you, kkpatel87 !

Unfortunately that's not the case. The AM3+ platform is being thrown out and the Zen series will be on a new socket AM4. Good money also says that it will be a DDR4 only.

So you will need a new mobo and memory if you wait for a new zen cpu.

The memory won't be an issue. If you check the parts list, you'll see that I have DDR4.

Yeah pretty much this^

It will probably be at least a $300 investment to switch, but the performance increase will be worth it.

And the MOBO I'm getting is already 650 USD. Money is an object to me as far as this build goes... It might as well be growing on the neatly trimmed hedges in my lawn.

uhh...it clearly says DDR3-2400 RAM

Whoops! That's the non-updated list. Here's the right one:

The older one was from a few days ago.

Note: no MOBO or CPU (no AM4 / AM4+ or Zen yet).
