Kingston M.2 question?

so im looking at getting a kingston M.2 sincce they are the best ones i can find in australia right now but whats the different between the 
 

Kingston HyperX Predator PCIe 240GB Gen2 x4 (M.2)
 
and the one with the HHHL Adapter ? dose having the adapter make a different at all ?

Adapter is used if you have no m.2 slot what is there to ask.  :huh:
