GPU Usage

So I've had some issues with MSI Afterburner telling me that my GPU (r9 270) isn't being utilized fully, as in the usage never really gets above about 85%.

I'm getting about 25-35 FPS in Far Cry 4 at Ultra preset at 1600x900.

Is there an issue with my gpu?

 

 

Edit: CPU is AMD FX 6300, and I have 8GB of RAM at 1600mhz

What's in my mind is CPU bottleneck, but try other games, not just Far Cry 4.

Well GTA V likes its CPU speed too, so probably.

 

You can try to increase the graphics quality, see if GPU utilization goes up. Also disable V-Sync if you're under 60fps

Well, GTA V likes CPU and GPU. You can try lowering the graphics setting or at least disable V-Sync, you can see tearing but the game runs smoother.

Could you try providing Info about your CPU while playing as well? Run HWiNFO64 while playing and snap the Core Usages please.

Hmm, another point, could be temperature issue. Probably the CPU throttles.
