Headphone problems

I have Logitech z906 speakers. Connected with analog plugs to onboard audio. I am trying to use the headphone jack on the side of the z906 control unit. I cant use the cases front audio jacks because they are blocked by my computer desk. The problem I am having is the headphone jack is outputting surround. My right ear is louder then the left. Is there a way to fix this? Or is that just the way the headphone jack works on the control unit? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
