My girlfriend has a msi x58 pro mobo http://us.msi.com/product/mb/X58_Pro.html#hero-overview .

The issue is that it reads kingston pc3-10700 (triple) as 1066 instead of 1333mhz.

I read that 1333 is oc mode for ram on this mobo.

I can change the ram ratio from auto(1066) to value "5"(I'm not sure, I'm at work right now) and get them work at 1333.

If I do this change, the NB freq increases automatically. Nothing else changes as I can remember.

My question is if this is harmful for the mobo. Ram will be ok as I understand as it within nominal specs.
