XBOX ONE (Wired Problems)

I had recently bought this Cod Aw edition Xbox one but when i try to connect it with a wired connection its not even picking up the wired connection at all so maybe i thought the wire was bad so i plugged my old xbox and the wire works great. why doesn't it work? can it be defective?

Go into your settings and check your connections, see if your wired connection shows up

If nothing else works, might have to bite the bullet and do a system reset. Go small to big in terms of severity of fix, might just be as simple as doing a hard rest (settings -> Power(?) -> restart I think, you'll know when you see it)

@AStateOfTrance dude i own a pc but its nice owning a console as well.

@everyone else:p like when i connect the cable thru the back it doesn't even say its connected or anything it just tells me i need to connect a ethernet cable but i already have one there. could it be defective?

Oh and btw i had already done a full system reset and nothing i think the xbox has a bad input

i had already own a xbox one i just bought the AW edition since it has a 1tb hard drive plus its limited edition i got it for $400 and well i tried the wire on my old Xbox and it worked then tried it on the AW and it didn't

and it did come properly wrapped and stuff didnt show the tape tabs open or anything or re applied.
