My brother runs a program called Ping Zap, and when he runs it, it always seems to make my ping shoot up alot and i ask him not to run it while I'm in ranked games etc. If i downloaded a similar program would his still work or would they just cancel each other out, or is there just something i can do in my network / modem and stop him from using it while I'm doing important things.

 

also i'm not trying to advocate pingzap, just wanted an answer.

Block him from the network and tell him to turn it off before he can reconnect. If you don't have control over the network, you could try running the program, but it probably wouldn't help a whole lot.

i do have control over the network but if i just blocked him he'd just unplug the modem so then i wouldn't have internet as well. He is a bit of a douche

Hmm, just try to get him to not use them. These programs like WTFast are complete bs. Maybe they do work for certain people, but if you have good internet already, you're just willingly giving yourself 5 fps due to 999 ping. :/

The woes of not waiting to buy a GPU when new releases hit soon.

Wait he has the modem and you have control over the network? Is he older/bigger than you?

The modem is in the lounge and yes, he is older and bigger. I have "control" because i can get into the modem settings and change things but he just dosn't know how to.
