Computer Programming?

I was interested in getting a bachelors degree in Computer Programming. To make a long story short, I had taken some classes before but did not finish because of overloading myself with 3 jobs and school. I want to know if going to a technical school over a state school is worth it.  I am located in the midwest part of the United States. Plan on going to college like Ohio State or Devry University. Devry would be completed in 3 years and about 4 years for OSU. Also how is the job market for this field? Does anyone have a job in this field of IT? Also my employer is giving me $10,000 a year to go back to college. I would can afford the difference and plan on getting a loan as well. Thank you.

Currently being in a technical school myself atm, it's worth for me. I can tell you about how greece's technical high schools work but not for the US ones :/

I would say go to a college in your area that will give you scholarship on top of the 10,000 from your employer and work through it slowly and spend as little of your own money as possible. Enjoy yourself, as for the degree, I personally am Majoring in Computer Engineering and that has a lot of programming, and computer science would also.

Devry is a lot more expensive than Ohio State for the same degree. They are both good in their fields. This would be for college not high school. I graduated hs a long time ago :P

Thank you. I went before for computer and electronics engineering double major at Devry. So if I went to Ohio State then I would save a lot of money.

Go Ohio state then, any state college is going to be widely accepted as pretty good. The track I am on is two A.S degrees at a local community college then 6 more years at a University in my area for a total of two masters. All with zero loans :)

Nice. How about if I went to Columbus State for 1.5 years which is cheaper to get all core classes out of the way then transfer Ohio State to finish my major. That would be the cheapest route.

If I am correct you have to be full blood native american, I am half blood and adopted so not for me. My bio-father is native american but not my bio-mother. So I don't get money or a tribe card or anything. They don't want no half blood.

You have to 1/16 native american to get a free ride to college meaning you don't pay anything. I have buddy that paid nothing for college because he was 1/16 Native American. Well I'm 100% but don't know who to go to. I will ask the adviser.

I never got that... xD I am much more than 1/16. I think you have to be registered with a tribe though. Since I was adopted and it was not known that I was native (Until Recently) american, I could be way wrong...

We don't have to pay for college that's all, instead of doing finals on our senior year in high school we just sit an exam to get qualified to go to a university.
