Wireless router suggestions?

Still using a Linksys WRT54G2 on my home network. If it means anything, we have approximately running 12-17 devices on the network at a time. That includes, PC, laptops, gaming consoles, network media players, smartphones and tablets!

Any input would be greatly appreciated! :)

Main Gaming Rig/Folding Machine: Core i7 3770k @ 4.7GHz / H100 with Sickleflow Fans/ Corsair 600t / XFX 6950 / 16GB DDR3

Folding/Media PC: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE/ Fractal Design Core 1000 / 4GB DDR2

Ultrabook : Samsung NP530 Ultrabook.

Does it have dd-wrt running on it ?

According to Linus & Slick the Linksys ea4500 (or better, not sure) is a very good choice for high loads.

Personally im done with consumer routers they keep crashing on me.

Something wrong with your connection ?

Run the damn cable :)

I used a D-Link dir-320 now using a TP-Link TL-WR941N, both are crap. Now bought myself a Mikrotik RB2011 to replace the TP-Link once I manage to configure it, and the old ones will serve as AP's.

  • 3 months later...
Medialink - Wireless N Broadband Router - 150 Mbps - 2.4GHz - 802.11n w/ Internal Antenna

is this wireless router any good? it has excellent reviews but I want to know what you guys think.  Unfortunately it's not gigabit but my comcast is only 6mbs.  My setup consists of only one Ethernet wired computer (main computer) all the rest wireless....like laptops, cell phones and tablets.

My dlink dir-655 has been great the whole time I've owned it.

I would recommend it to anyone.

I haven't tried to connect that many devices to it though.
