Powering a 290

Go to solution Solved by Sintezza,

yeah it will be fine.

just use the 6+2 and the 6 pin.

I will soon be building my first pc (probably this weekend :) ). I've bought an XFX 290 which requires an 8 pin and a 6 pin power connector. My psu is a corsair rm 650, it comes with two sets of pcie cables and each one splits into 2 6+2 pin power connectors. My question is will one pcie cable (which splits into 2 6+2 pins be sufficient to power it? Sorry if I'm being a bit of a noob or left out any info.

Thanks :)

Yep, will be fine, I did this with my 650w before I upgraded. It only had a (6+2)+6 available

Thanks I just wanted to check that it'd be fine :)
