Far Cry 4 funny GPU bug

I finally decided to purchase Far Cry 4, thinking that it should be running fine by now. I run 2 x R9 290X with a Devils canyon

(i7 4790K). I run the game @ 2560 x 1440 everything on ultra (using VSR to scale it down to fit on a 1080P screen - looks so awsome).

 

The funny bug is I get the game running awsome for short periods of time (5-10 minutes). The GPU usage is at 100% on one GPU and around 98-99% on the other and the game runs smooth at an average of 60-80FPS. But this can never last long, after around 5-10 minutes the GPU usage will drop right down to around 68% on one and around 28% on the other.

 

The CPU usage on one core is right up there around 94% but the othe cores hang around 24-44 %.

 

The temperature on the top GPU never goes above 83 degrees, (the lower one is generally 6-8 degrees less).

 

Has anyone had this issue happen to therm? Is there a fix?

Does crossfire work for you? Last time I tried it with 2 7970s it didnt

It does for a while, really well... but for no obvious reason the usage of both GPUs drop right down. So then it becomes almost unplayable... stuttering

Your right, "annoying" would be more appropriate. I've just finished reading the beta notes on 15.5 and it sounds like a Witcher 3 fix only... but I'll give it a go later.

Yup, it ends up stuttering bad, especially when I'm driving.
