Hello LTT Forums!

I am building a Video Editing/CAD/Rendering/Gaming PC. I just wanted so advice in terms of the motherboard. (I know it does affect performance, but I just wanted a second opinion). The two motherboards I am considering at the moment are the ASRock Extreme4 and the MSI SLI Plus. I've used three ASRock boards in the past and I was getting a little tired of them so I decided to look at the MSI board (I am a bit of an MSI fanboy). Anything else I should consider or other thoughts? Thanks!

BOINC Setup:
i5 7200U @ Stock

Core2Duo T6600 @ Stock

i3 2330M @ Stock

i5 3210M @ Stock

When you go into high end boards like x99 they all will work very well. Just pick the one that you think looks the best (if that's important to you) and has the most features you want at the lowest price.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

The one thing the ASRock has, I think, is better audio. But both boards will have far better audio than my laptop
