VGA vs HDMI

Hi guys, I just bought an ASUS VX239H monitor, but realized it does not come with an HDMI cable, only VGA. My GPU (7970) only supports DVI and DisplayPort, so I have to plug the included VGA cable into a VGA to DVI adapter and then into my 7970. is there any quality degradation doing this? If there is then I'm just gonna go buy an HDMI cable.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Just get HDMI. Either will work, but yes - the quality will be better from the HDMI than the VGA/DVI

DVI-to-VGA adapter is the same as using a VGA connection. It is potentially worse quality than HDMI but whether you can notice it or not depends on the cable, environment, and many other factors.
