Laptop for uni?

well then your program will tell you what specs you need in a laptop.  or if you need one at all.

So I'm going to college next year and I've been wondering, do I really need a laptop? I already have a decent pcand I'm planning to do upgrades that will turn it into a beast but if I need money for a laptop, I'll need to save up little by little from now. Furthhermore, if I do need a laptop, I don't think that I should do what everybody else does and get a macbook pro, so in case that a laptop IS necessary, which laptop do I choose? Thanks!

Get something nice and portable, like an XPS 13.  For Uni, unless you're taking engineering, you just need something to view powerpoints and type out notes quickly.  Since you said you'll be gaming on your desktop, there is no need to get a high performance laptop.

I honestly just wanna know if I need a laptop for university or not.

and you don't NEED it if you don't think you'll need it.  People just find it's helpful to be able to type out notes from the lectures, as lectures go relatively fast.

Okay, I see your point sager vs apple. But why would I need this if I'm going to be gaming on my desktop? these laptops are expensive

Well the purpose of these laptops are for rendering and intense applications not gaming. They come with Quadros not Gtx M's.
