Hello guys, sorry for the spam today.
I decided on what gpu to purchase but i still wonder if to change my cpu or not.
Currently i have an i5 2300 2.8GHz. Can it run me (for example gta 5) at very high settings at LEAST or should i change it?
If i were to change it i'd choose this : http://www.pcgarage.ro/procesoare/intel/core-i5-4690-35ghz-box/

What do you think?

if you are going to buy GTA V anyway, why dont you just try if it works, then change the CPU or GPU if it lags

I have it. It wasn't laggy at all before my gpu got the artifacts (and i supposed it was from the game, or from the simple fact it was 4 years old) at NORMAL settings (which is min anyways).

do as Novistion said, and save your money

there will come newer and better processors in the future, and the older ones will become cheaper, so just keep away from buying new processors and graphic cards untill you really need them

altough, if you are a PC tech lover, like most on these forums, maybe it will be worth it.

A CPU doesn't generally have much bearing on what video settings you can use. I really doubt yours would cause any problematic bottlenecking if you're only aiming for 60 FPS. Provided you have a video card that is up to the task, that is. Your i5-2300 is probably comparable to my overclocked i5-750, which still feels pretty solid in most games.

The CPU you linked would require a new motherboard with the LGA-1150 socket. Yours is from the Sandy Bridge generation, which uses LGA-1155. Up to an i5-3570K should be compatible, but finding one on sale might be a challenge.
