I was using a 1440x900 monitor for a while, and I never had a problem with it.

Heyyo,

It's still a decently used resolution. The thing is the aspect ratio for 1440x900 is 16:10 which is less popular than 16:9 is all. Most of the time though? If a game supports widescreen it'll support 16:10 but might not have the right field of view is all.

worst case you have to step down to a 16:9 aspect ratio resolution like 1366x768 and have minor black bars on the top and bottom of your screen. If you don't want black bars the monitor should have the option to stretch the image but as the name implies the models will look a little taller than normal.
