consumer cpus supporting ecc memory?

Go to solution Solved by NumLock21,

Some server boards will only accept Core i3 or Xeons. While others will support Pentium as well as Celerons.

Both of these also support ECC

so i was looking through an i3 spec sheet and i noticed that it supports ecc memory. im wondering if there is a reason for this? is it because i3s are commonly used in business desktops? or something like that.
