CPU. 5930K.

Cooler: Swiftech H240X.

MoBo: ASUS X99 Deluxe.

Memory: 16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 4x4. w/white LED bars.

Storage: x2 Samsung 850 EVO 120 GB.

GPU: x2 EVGA Reference 980.

Case: NZXT H440. White/Black.

PSU: Corsair AX860i

OS: Windows 8.1.

Monitor: TBD.

Parts to reuse: WD black 2TB.

Location: West Coast US.

Budget: $4700.

Reason: 1440p Gaming/light video editing.

I have some basic experiencing assembling PC hardware from a high school class about 8 years ago. I currently game on an old MSI laptop(no hate pls) I purchased a few years ago when I was staying on the east coast and didn't really have a residence nailed down.

I plan on a white on black color scheme. I'll be white plastidipping the light bars on the RAM, along with the silver portions of the reference coolers on the 980's. I've also looked into modding the GeForce GTX logo on the GPU's with light sanding to change it from green to white. As a side note, I know that having two SSD's is unnecessary, but the H440 has two drive slots right in front of the window, and having one empty would put a damper on the aesthetics I'm looking for. Basically I'm looking for advice, past experience, suggestions, ect.

For the monitor, I've looked into the ROG Swift, it has the 1440p high refresh/Gsync/1ms response that I'm looking for, but people have been having lots of problems or DOA units, so I'm definitely looking for suggestions on that.

I am also considering water cooling in the future, but not just yet.

TL;DR: If you had $4700 to throw in a pit and light it on fire, would you consider this a good way to do it.
