I'm sure you guys got a little confused by the title, no I don't need any suggestions for what ssd to get, I need suggestions for after I get it.

I'll be getting a 250GB Samsung 850 Evo in the next couple of days, so that also means I'll be doing a fresh install of windows and such.

Now, I've got a couple things I'd like your opinions on/questions that I'd like answered:

- What version of windows should I go with? I currently use and love 7, but I might also be able to go with 8.1, or I could go with 10 tech preview. (Keep in mind this would be used as a primary OS, so W10TP wouldn't be the absolute best of choices.)

- How can I make programs and such automatically default to installing on one of my HDDs instead of my SSD?

- If I go with windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bit), how do I set it up to run TRIM on the SSD every so often, while still having the HDDs be defragged every so often as well? Would I just have to use some software for TRIM and leave the defrag stuff to windows? or can it all be done from within windows?

Thanks :3 Can't wait to ascend to the #SSDMasterRace!

1-if you want 7 then go with 7 rather than regretting and installing everything once again.

2- you cant but you could link the program files folder to an HDD which I wouldnt suggest because if that HDD fails expect a shitstorm

3- IF i recall correctly samsungs own software helps you set the ssd and configure windows accordingly, if not it should be quite easy.

Alright, #2 isn't a huge deal as I can just have steam install most of my games and such on another drive, and same of most of my other non-steam games and programs, it will just take me a little longer :3
