I'm planning to build a 1440p/low 4k gaming PC, but I need to cut the price down as much as possible. ATM i'm at about £1150, but I would prefer it if I could get under £1100.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

My build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/mJXLLk

Don't know if you can use that CPU / Mobo combo. The 4690K likes a *97 chipset. You can update the bios in some cases, but i'm not sure about this one.

It will play games @ 1440p at medium- high settings. Definetely not ultra.

That 970 is decent enough for 1440p, I've seen mine struggle with 4K already hence I downgraded to 1440p, other than that you should be fine

If you really want to game in 4K I'd suggest getting a 980 instead, even that won't provide you with the best possible experience, gaming in 4K is pretty expensive

Radeon cards tend to do better at higher resolutions.

Is there anything wrong with my motherboard in the original?

Yes. It's Z87. We're using a Haswell Refresh chip. Unless you have a spare LGA1150 CPU, you'll risk your CPU not working in case of having an old motherboard with an older BIOS.
