5960x Overclocking Voltages

Go to solution Solved by Analog,

With the 5960X it really depends. This is from AnandTech:

However, you will need at least a 240mm AIO to keep up with voltages above 1.2V.

Hey All,

Recently transitioned to X99 and picked up a 5960x. Being rather new to overclocking, what are the recommended voltages for specific multipliers?

Thanks!

There is no such thing.  You simply increase the clock until you reach instability, then you increase voltage until you reach stability.  Rinse and repeat.  Every chip is different and therefore what works on one may not work on yours.
