Hi,

I'm starting my custom build and would like your advice on what parts I should get. I will use the computer for 3D game development (Unreal Engine 4) and gaming. My budget is ~£500 GBP. I will need this price to include the operating system (preferably Windows 8.1) but I will not require a keyboard, mouse or monitor.

Here is the build that I have come up with so far: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/WmBN7P

1. Budget & Location

£500 - UK

2. Aim

I will use this build for 3D game development and gaming. I will be playing fairly new games like Far Cry 4 and Alien Isolation. I mainly play Indie Games though. I will be using Unreal Engine 4 for game development which is quite graphically demanding.

3. Monitors

I already have a monitor so this will not need to be included in the price. I currently have 1x 1080p monitor but will upgrade to 3x 1080p or 2x 1440p in the future.

4. Peripherals

I will not need any peripherals included in the price. I am going to get a K95 RGB, what are people's thoughts on this?

5. Why are you upgrading?

I'm upgrading because I currently don't own a computer of my own as I recently sold my old one.

EDIT: I don't mind overclocking. In the future I will probably upgrade to an FX8000 series and I will definitely overclock that so getting a CPU cooler that will overclock an FX8000 now could benefit me.

EDIT 2: I already have the case and storage so that is not needed.

If you are set on that CPU itself you should any board with the right features for you with a H97 chipset.

Any parts list that I try with that CPU and GPU is out of my budget. Does anybody have any other ideas or does anyone have a parts list with a 4440 and a 960 ~ £500

I must admit that it doesn't fit in your budget, but If if possible you can wait a few months, save up and go for a decent Skylake i5 by the time.

And wait for a GTX 960 on sale ( or a R9 280/290 ).
