the two i'm looking at are these two

http://www.amazon.com/Acer-H236HL-bid-23-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00AZMLIDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432047522&sr=8-1&keywords=acer+h236hl+bid

and

so obviously size is the big difference but besides that is there anything that'd make you choose one over the other? or a different one for that matter.

I actually have three of the Acer H236HL bid monitors. I think the 23-inch size is perfect for 1080p. The colors are awesome and were a massive improvement over my old TN panels. They have super small bezels, however, this is hurt by the fact that the screen doesn't go all the way to the bezel. Another thing to consider is VESA mounts. While they do not have VESA compatibility natively, I believe you can buy aftermarket adapters. Any kind of latency isn't noticeable and games and movies look awesome! I was able to pick mine off of Ebay for $118 apiece. I honestly don't see myself replacing these anytime soon. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! I won't talk about the other monitor because I am heavily biased. :P

any reason in particular? just wondering

Just personal preference, and I wouldn't want a monitor over 24 in. lmao as awkward as it sounds with it being one more inch.
