I'm wondering how I should overclock my i7-4790k.

My specs are:
GTX 970 Strix

16GB RAM

EVGA 750w B1 PSU

Hyper 212 EVO

ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO

increase voltage to 1.275v (idk), increase multiplier, run test and look at temperatures. if it's stable, rinse and repeat (except voltage) then do this until its unstable then lower to the previous multiplier. as long as you don't exceed 75c+ on load, you're fine. with a decent cooler that is.

I try to dial back the voltage on the stock clocks and test with AIDA64 until its unstable, then I increment the volts and multiplier from there.

 

Mine runs 4.4GHz at 1.175v, but your mileage may vary.
