Hi !

I have somewhat a complicated question for you guys:

Say I run my PC with Win 7 OEM, activated license (Everything legal, I actually buy my OSs ).

If I format everything and install Ubuntu or Debian as my main system, can I reactivate my OEM

Windows 7 in VirtualBox under Linux ?

The hardware have not change but how do Windows activation system see it when the hardware

is emulated or virtual ? I actually don't have a clue, maybe everything gonna be ok, I just don't want

to reinstall Windows on my main machine is that doesn't work...

Thanks for your help !

doubt it, pretty sure the OEM licenses are bonded to your hardware. I think the mobo to be more specific? not to sure

Running it on virtual hardware would present different "hardware" to the OS. You might be able to just reactivate it or phone M$ and tell them you got a new computer or something.
