Hey. Just to be short and sweet, I want you guys to tear this thing apart. Anything you say can be helpful. Please look at each piece and see if I could get a another component for a better price and not sacrifice any performance! Any comments on the build overall will be helpful as well! I don't want to go much further up in cost. Thanks in advanced!!

Literally my only "complaints:" I disagree with a GTX 980. I feel that, for the price, you're not getting enough performance. That being said, it is a strong card no less. The monitors seem like an odd choice to me. Two 21.5in panels? That's just tiny. The cooler, case, RAM, CPU, motherboard, HDD, SSD, they all are perfect. Just the card, and the GPU don't make sense to me.

I did it just for the price. I have a 52" tv that will be hooked up as well for other stuff so I figured I had enough space...

What's the system being used for?

Why such a large case? Are you planning for a custom loop?

Is the optical drive really necessary? What's with the network adapter?

I have changed a few parts around.

You don't need an ethernet port there is 1 built on the motherboard

I changed the 980 out for a 8GB 290x, I think you would see it more future friendly and it costs a bit less.

I changed out the WD black 2GB to a 3GB with the money saved from the ethernet card..

I changed out the 2400MHz ram to 2133MHz ram $10 less and you won't notice the difference.

Other than  that good builld.

Is the ethernet card any better than onboard ethernet? (or do you need 2 forsome reason)

aswell as above, probably don't need a 980, dual 970 better.

need the wd black? a lot more expensive than green, or even 2 WD BLUES.

Looks good, change the GTX980 to 2 GTX 970 in SLI. Don't use 2 290x in Crossfire because power usage (Watts) and heat will be much higher then the colder Maxwell Nvidea GPUs, also better overclock performance on Maxwell since you have more watts available.

The system is being used for quiet a bit. Gaming, recording, streaming, music production, video editing etc. I chose that case just because I really like it. The optcial drive is necessary because I have some old cd-rom games that I love to play. I didn't even think about on-board Ethernet... would the on board be no better than a separate card?

I only need one ethernet card but it needs to be reliable. I honestly do not know the difference between the two and wasn't even thinking that the mobo had an integrated one... I chose the WD Black because it is geared toward the gaming standpoint... or at least I am told..

The onboard ethernet is fine.

Is money not really an issue? The 980 isn't that good of a value but that doesn't really matter if you just have money to blow.

Yeah. I;m trying to keep it at $2000 so I won't have to save for so long

So you're still saving up and not buying soon?

Yes

I'd suggest planning later in that case. ~2-3 days at most before you buy. Parts and prices change frequently so any parts list you come up with now may be obsolete when it comes time to buy.

I agree it's nice to have a goal but really don't bother looking too hard until the cash is on hand, I personally spread my build out over 3 months late last year and I could have built a better PC if I had just waited rather than buying the way I did.

At least you have some idea on what you want now though.

Ok awesome then! Thanks!! I plan to have the moolah by end of September so I'll be sure to post this again!
