Record Player Scratching Records

Yeah, it was working, then i flipped the record, and the needle just whent sideways across the record making a big scratch.

 

I looked, there is some dust on the needle.

 

Is this the problem:?

 

How can i fix it?

well i'm not from the days of the vinyls so maybe some canned air or an air compressor

Damn that sucks, what record player is it? one of the new ones from target or a original. 

 

Ive been thinking about getting a record player myself.

I  have GameServer`s And VOIP servers the only price is that you have fun on them.

Dust, weighting on the end of the arm (if adjustable) and a worn out needle could all be culprits.

Dust, weighting on the end of the arm (if adjustable) and a worn out needle could all be culprits. 

Probably just the dust, but i dont want to clean it off, put it back on the record, and have it scratch it again.

 

People sill use these.

Same people who wear plaid shirts, type on 1994 Apple Adjustable Keyboards, own silverstone cases, Nike Haurache 94's, Imac g4's, powermac g4 cubes, and such.
