apu setup for a friend (cheaper the better)

Go to solution Solved by thekeemo,

seeing that he laready has the 250 the 7850k is probably a good choice over say a g3258 although cpu bound games may have some issues

so my friend bought a pre-build pc that was made for office work but he wanted to play games on it so bought a basic graphics card due to a tight budget, the card he bought does not work with the motherboard (http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=1483&MenuID=17&LanID=0) we don't know why but have told him he will be best off buying a new cpu and motherboard.

so this is where you guys come in because you're soo helpful, he needs an m-atx motherboard and an apu.

the gpu he bought was the r7 250 so if it could run together with the apu this would be better than the cpu alone, he is wanting to spend about £150 on the mobo and cpu as he already has ram.

thanks for the help :)

You say that you don't know why it doesn't work, but have you asked for help on this forum before? If not I would suggest giving some more info about exactly why it doesn't work and we might be able to solve your problem. Although in terms of performance / currency, an APU is never a very good choice.

Disclaimer : I might be wrong.

asking for help trying to fix the issue would be better than walking around it, it's just that my friend knows nothing about computers and we are unable to physically see the computer so we do not know much about the issue at hand. if we were able to get the parts would would obviously meet up to put it together just so he does not fry anything.
