I know that stacked radiators are not giving better performence, but how much space do you need between them?

If I take a Thermaltake Core X9 and put 6x 480mm radiators inside it, will it work?

2 side mounted in the bottom bay, 2 flat mounted where the motherboard tray was and 2 in the roof.

For the sake of it, lets say I'm using EK-CoolStream PE 480 with EK-Vardar F4-120, for a 63mm combo.

And please, dont start talking about overkill. The goal is a quiet and cool overclocked system.

No one knows if I get better temps with 4 or 6 radiators in this case?

And yes, that its the 2nd case in a stack I'm talking about.

It really depends on what you are cooling, and how much heat they give off. More is better for silent system but after a certain point is is not as beneficial. That being said I personally have more than double of the standard 120mm space per component since I did want silence.

As for the spacing between rads as long as they are not starved of fresh air they have be arranged in any fashion you desire.

But take a look at this it's a different way of looking at rad surface the the peformance gained:

The side mounted will draw fresh air into the case.

The middle mounted, will be drawing that air up.

The top rads will then expel that air.

Between the middle and top rad, so is there about 130mm of space.

Between side mounted and middle, about 20mm, but since the side mounted once dont have same direction, so should it be fine.

So I guess that means nether is starved for air.

As for rad space needed, so does my current system hold 3x 480mm rads and they cant keep my system cool, while being quiet. So I'm dobbling, as that should at least keep the noice down.

For 3 480mm rads that's a fair bit of cooling what hardware you are running. And that setup sound good I'd be sure to put dust filters on the intakes and that positive pressure will help prevent some dust.

I only have a 60mm thick 360 rad and a 45mm thick 240 and it never takes the fans off idle and keeps nice and cool temps when doing intensive work or benchmarks.
