Last questions :)

Go to solution Solved by airdeano,

you'll be just fine with distilled water and a kill coil.

no aluminum? no steel? no unobtainium?

occasionally check the internal plating of the bits fits as some to tend to pit. i've used

3 z-tubes (sliver plated and they pit/flake like the dickens).. but hadn't since using no

dyes, inhibitors, and using the right pH from pre-flush of parts.

Alright guys so these are my last questions before i fill my loop tomorrow:

The metals in my loop are copper brass silver plating (bitspower silver compressions) and a silver kill coil, am I in danger of corrosion since i'm not using a anti corrosive substance and will be changing fluid every 6 months?

How do i "install" a kill coil? Do i just drop it in my res? wouldn't that clog my pump/ blocks?

I have hydrx additive available to me and my kill coil, upon reading about hydrx i hear it leaves mystery green gunk in blocks from the dye however it has an anti corrosive and my coil doesn't so which one am i better off using!

Thanks to everyone who helped me throught my first loop :)

the additive is called ethylene glycol (antifreeze/coolant). what they put in

cars/trucks.

kill coil is small enough to place inline of a hidden tube/line/fitting. most just

drop it in the reservoir, others coil it as to anchor it in a fitting to be obscure.

if it geet loose, just make sure it is not in a feed line to the pump (won't be

able to navigate radius') to keep FOD (foreign object damage) limited.

kill coil and distilled water and your done.

So i don't need to worry about like galvanic corrosion? I'm using distilled and a coil. The metals in my loop are from the following blocks:

apogee HD (cpu block)

komodo NV (gpu block)

swiftech mcr220-xp (rad)

bitspower true silver fittings (fittings)

Thanks allot man you've been a great help throughout my watercooling questions. Can't wait to fill the thing and get it running
