I have run out of storage space on my laptop and I need to get an external hard drive but I don't know what to get.

I want one with 1tb of storage and is not to expensive. It needs to be able to store and transport video and photos fast as I have a lot of it.

Can any one recommend one?

You have a couple of options:

- Get a regular external drive. They are easy to set up, have some additional features and are pretty neat. I can suggest checking out WD's external drive solutions and see if any of them would be appealing to you. All of them work pretty fast and are great for what you are looking for. - Another option is to get a regular internal drive and use it with a SATA to USB cable, docking station or a simple external enclosure. This way you might get a better performing drive and a bit more inexpensive solution.
