Two cards look cool, that would be my only argument.

much more heat noise and power consumption though...

Yolo you know, I own two cards because I wasn't planning on adding another one but did and I love the look of it.

Yes power is higher, heat wasn't really an issue and with the latest silent modes these cards have, the noise isn't bad. Personally I like two cards and will always have two just because the coolness of them. BUT at being said, I would go for 1 Nvidia card over 2 AMD cards.
