I've had experiences with both generations of the Moto X, but they really didn't satisfy me. Their specs are pretty awesome for the price. 2GB of RAM, a decent fast quad core chip, and a display that really hit right where it counts for me. That's the good for both of the Moto X phones that I've used. However, they are incredibly easy to break. First drop on hard floor took my first Moto X. The drop was from pocket height, and it landed on the top left corner, which shattered the entire top of the screen, as well as the layer of glass on top of the digitizer. The second Moto X was similar. It was dropped on hard floor from chest height, where it shattered the front glass. It then began to run a boot loop and eventually the screen started acting as if it has been affected by water damage, producing odd patterns of color. After letting it sit for about 3 hours, it finally stopped doing this.

Wow, and I thought the iPhone 6 Plus was delicate. Moto made the 6'es look like indestructible bricks.

I've never had problems with my 1st Gen Moto G, although the X and G have quite different bodies. I feel bad for you, breaking 2 of them...

It's really luck of the draw when it comes to this sort of thing. People's experiences can vary vastly. One of my friends managed to get his screen cracked with an otterbox on it.
