I don't know if this should be posted here or on the Mobile Devices thread so if it is indeed wrong please move this post.

I have got a Motorola Moto G 2014 with a Samsung 32GB Evo MicroSD card as external storage. But last satureday i woke up and the error message: "SD card unexpectetly removed" poped up.

I tried removing it and putting it back in with different kinds of forces. I can't unmount it in the settings menu since the sd card options are greyed out. I wanted to format the microSD card but even though I tried 2 different adapters with their lock switches in all positions possible, even the in-between one, it always said "SD card is writing protected". I tried to change that in the settings for the adapter but even tho I changed them it still says it's writing protected. I also tried to restore the device to factory settings but no success here either. If somebody could give me a hint what might be wrong that'd be great. :D

tl;dr: microSD doesn't work in my Moto G 2014 and appears to be writing protected on my PC.

Things I already tried:

- reinserting the microSD

- changing the lock switch on 2 different adapters for the SD card

- Changing the permission for my PC to full access

- restoring factory settings on my device

sorry for my bad english :/

If nothing else is working, you'll want to try a full reformat of your SD card. Instructions linked.
