Is PNY the only brand that offers an Nvidia reference cooler GTX 980 model (part number VCGGTX9804XPB-CG) that comes with a backplate included?

My first choice was the $630 EVGA GTX 980 SC (reference model part# 04G-P4-2982-KR) but you have to buy an EVGA $20 blackplate (part number 100-BP-2981-B9) separately. Newegg has it for $590 after a $20 rebate, The stock photos show a backplate installed but I don't think it actually comes with it since EVGA doesn't sell it that way.

The Nvidia backplate is different with a removable panel for better airflow in between when doing SLI. I suppose you can't buy direct from Nvidia?

You gotta do you girl. I always say you gotta do you. And if he's doing him, then who's doing you? Because right now, it seems like no one's doing you.

I'm certain all manufacturers carry the reference design and you can buy the Nvidia OEM at best buy.

Best Buy would be $600 + local MD State tax = $636

Still hard to tell (except maybe BB) if they include the backplate since the branded one's may be using generic stock product photos.

You might be right, after all I've only used non-reference coolers.
