Hi there. I'm new to this forum and I'll be needing your help!

I recently purchased a new motherboard (one that supports overclocking for my Q6600, an ASRock G31M-S). I installed it into my custom-built PC and booted it up. Upon entering Windows 8.1, which I had installed before I purchased this motherboard, I noticed that there were no sounds coming out from my speakers. So I downloaded and installed the audio driver from their website. I installed it and it prompted me to restart the system. I restarted it but nothing changed. I examined it and realized that it was sending audio signals to my Sony monitor, which had a built-in speaker. The monitor uses HDMI but I used an HDMI to DVI cable because I disabled the HDMI port on my graphics card. I disabled that signal but nothing happened. It still didn't detect my speakers. I tried loading the default values in the BIOS, nothing happened. It does detect the microphone jack and the line-in when something is plugged in, but not the headphone jack. Any suggestions?
