windows 8.1 web browser SLOW!

ok so i just purchased an asus zenbook pro ux501 a couple days ago and i've found that web browsers like chrome/firefox have been extremely slow/laggy and sometimes unresponsive.

i have a pc running on windows 7 and browsing on chrome/ff is completely fine and snappy but when i use them on this laptop everything seems to take ages to load, now im not talking about internet speeds when i download games on steam its just as fast as on my pc or when i check speedtest i get the same speeds as on my pc but when i open a tab or open settings on chrome it takes 3-4 seconds to open the new tab. ive been searching for a solution for the past 2 days and i dont know what to do anymore

If it has some bloatware, I would remove it all. Then you can adjust your startup with typing msconfig into your "Search Programs and Files."

 

Also might want to see how much memory the machine has currently installed.
