Hello!

I just got a new Intel Platform (I5 4690k) and I wonder why it's boosting it's frequency so much and so often, even when the CPU sits in idle. It's ranging from 3.7Ghz to 3.9Ghz and never even goes down to 3.5 according to CPU-Z. It's a bit strange to me and I guess my system will likely burn more energy like that which is unnecessary. Is it because of the 2133 Mhz RAM I installed? Since I'm coming from AMD and this is my first Intel CPU so I don't have much experience with that. Also, are there any reliable power saving options in the UEFI which don't hamper gaming? I'd like to have my system to be as efficient as possible. Mobo is a Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5.

Edit: Never mind - I had windows energy settings still set to maximum performance. That's why it never downclocked.
